Rippl-Rónai Museum, Kaposvar, Hungary, Europe
The Rippl-Rónai Museum is the largest cultural institution in Somogy County. It is named after József Rippl-Rónai, a native of Kaposvár and a leading figure of the Nabis movement and Hungarian modernism.
Visual Characteristics
The main museum building is a monumental Neoclassical palace formerly serving as the county hall. It features high ceilings, wide stone corridors, and a formal garden layout. The interior displays are characterized by Rippl-Rónai’s vibrant "corn-style" paintings-marked by pointillist-like dabs of intense color-alongside extensive ethnographic and archaeological galleries.

The institution gained international significance through its massive collection of Rippl-Rónai’s original oil paintings, lithographs, and tapestries.
